Examples of assignments we have worked on:

Providing Project Management Capacity: A client had a large backlog of  projects involving multi-country rollouts and remote development. We were able to provide an experienced project manager to run multiple projects remotely until the client was able to hire suitable staff themselves. This enabled schedules to be maintained while the right permanent PM candidate was found.

IT Systems Management Review: A company where there were issues with IT stability and the Directors wanted the security of knowing that the system is being maintained and operated professionally with minimum risk of outage or data loss, a VCF consultant reviewed the system and its Management. Some of the items we reviewed were: operational procedures, backup and recovery procedures, change procedures, problem management and security management. The result was a stable and secure system.

Strategic Planning: We produced two reports, one outlining and confirming the current Business Strategy as agreed with the client and a second that documented a IT Strategy that meet the requirements of the Business Strategy

Testing Management: A VCF consultant produced a testing strategy and then a test plan to meet that strategy. He also consulted to the Testing Manager during testing ensuring that the process was rigorous and covered business risk items. The result was an implementation with no significant issues.

Project/Program Management: We have had many roles that have been either been managing the project or program or as a consultant to the project manager to enable a company person to manage the project but know that the methodology employed is rigorous.

Business Process Consultant: The consultant reviewed and documented the existing processes (first time they had been agreed) and then reviewed best practices and produced a Gap Analysis. A process improvement plan was then agreed between all parties.

Independent Engineering Consultant: Owned jointly by the integrator and the client, this consultant looked at how both the client and the integrator were achieving their actions and reported on such things as risks, issues and their mitigation, and the quality of the project. The result was that issues were resolved ahead of time and final acceptance of the project was agreed on time.

Project Audit: Provided to the client a snapshot report on how the project was progressing, the methodologies being used and what were the issues that were creating risk to project implementation. The result was a project that accomplished its objectives on time.

Migration Strategy and Planning: The consultant reviewed and documented both the current data and its structure as well as the target data environment. He then produced a data cleansing plan and a migration plan taking into account the timing and sequencing of events required. The result was a trouble free migration.

Bid Management: We reviewed the RFP and provided a plan for the response identifying the resources both for with the company and for subcontractors to produce an professional bid.

Local IT Management Consultant: The consultant worked with the Thai IT shop on a part time basis attending conference calls with overseas IT Management and ensuring that decisions were understood and planned in the local environment. The result was much lower cost than flying people in regularly.  It also gave the company the ability to use more of the cheaper local resource knowing it was managed professionally.

Project Review & Assessment Process: For a client using both Agile and Waterfall project methodologies, we developed a light weight (but rigorous)  process covering the review and assessments of projects. The scope covered from project initiation through to post implementation.
